The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax preparation services to taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $54,000 or less. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation to qualified individuals in local communities. Taxpayers will learn about tax credits for which they may qualify such as Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled.
For more information on the VITA program, contact VITA Site Coordinator George Kuebler at firstname.lastname@example.org or (219) 464-3583 ext. 128.
Tax appointments are available Monday, February 4 through Thursday, April 11 2019.
Please review and make sure to bring the required documents with you to ensure a productive session.
United Way of Porter County is one of 15 organizations that make up the Northwest Indiana Asset Building Coalition, which provides VITA program services in Lake, Porter, Pulaski and Starke Counties. To make an appointment at a different Asset Building Coalition location, click here.
