United Way offers so many ways for you to make a difference in your Northwest Indiana community. From youth and senior citizen engagement to addiction and disaster relief services, you can donate your time, talent and treasure to help those around you who need it most.
Your support of United Way of Porter County is needed now more than ever. More than 69,000 area residents are serviced annually. We connect them to the help they need most by supporting more than 55 programs in Northwest Indiana.
From helping 4 and 5 year olds prepare for school to providing at-home care for the elderly, we are there. BUT we couldn't be there without you.

We have the power to make a real impact in our community. Families, friends and neighbors need help every now and then. By LIVING UNITED, we can and will improve the quality of life in Northwest Indiana.
100% of every dollar donated to United Way of Porter County goes to help people. We maintain a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator, an independent nonprofit analyst organization. The highest rating they award.
We recognize individual annual gifts of $500 or more as part of our Leadership Giving Program. Levels of giving are recognized as below.
Annually, our National Tocqueville Society donors are recognized at our Community Celebration held in early Spring.
As a token of our appreciation, Gold, Silver and Red Feather donors receive a special feather lapel pin annually to be recognized for their contribution. We hope they will wear it proudly and share their United Way story with others.
The United Way Tocqueville Society was founded in 1984 and recognizes local philanthropic leaders and volunteer champions that have given time, talent and treasure to create long-lasting change in their community. The Society honors donors across the United States, France and Romania.
The Red Feather Society, established in the 1930's, was widely recognized as a symbol of the Community Chest system that later evolved into United Way. This cherished symbol of community involvement and generous contributions to creat positive change still lives on today. The society has involved into The Feather Soceity to encompass and recognizes all donor gifts from $500 to $9,999.
United Way and its partner organizations depend on volunteers. We couldn't do any of this without you! No matter where you want to volunteer, we can get you there.
Annually, we host fun, volunteer and fundraising events to support our community. From March through October we always have something going on. Check out our upcoming events here.
