Disaster Relief & Preparedness

Because recovery doesn't happen overnight.

When disaster strikes, United Way and its partners are there for the long haul to help pick up the pieces and get things back on track.

Whether locally or nationally, you can help support the short and long-term relief efforts taking place to counteract natural and man-made disasters.

You can make a quick and easy donation to the United Way of Porter County disaster relief fund. 100% of your donation goes to support the United Way in the disaster area of your choice.

Volunteers are critical to disaster relief. Sign up through the Regional Volunteer Center to be contacted in the event of an emergency.

NWI Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD)

COAD is an opportunity to get involved in disaster preparedness and relief efforts before a community crisis happens. Organizations and individuals work together to coordinate service and logistics in all phases of emergency management. NWI COAD serves Lake, LaPorte, Newton, Porter and Jasper counties.
