Valparaiso, IN – United Way of Porter County will host its annual Golf Classic on Monday, May 23rd at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton.
The event, presented by Kramer & Leonard, will raise funds to support family programs in Porter County.
“Now in its sixth year, our Golf Classic has become an important event to help families,” said Greg Fox, United Way of Porter County Golf Classic Committee Chair. “So many people depend on community support to deliver quality healthcare, education and emergency assistance. This event keeps these programs alive and running in our community.”
Organized by an all-volunteer committee of community leaders, the program includes an 18-hole scramble, lunch, 50/50 raffle, dinner, silent auction and awards ceremony. Attendees will also have the chance to win:
· $5,000 prize in the Pines Village Retirement Communities putting contest.
· $1,000 cash prize via poker scratch-off cards.
· Sand Creek Country Club Foursome pass.
· A car in the LakeShore Ford-Toyota-Scion Hole-in-One contest.
· Valparaiso University basketball tickets for the closest to the pin contest.
· Silent auction items such as front row Cubs Game tickets.
Day-of event registration begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by shotgun tee-off at noon. Send-off festivities include a flag presentation by the Portage JROTC and the National Anthem sung by Rachel McLaughlin. Golf ends at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and awards ceremony.
