Ed and Mary Russell, owners of Great Dune Financial Services presented a check for $10,000 to United Way of Porter County as the first gift of the 2007 United Way campaign.  Tom Kennedy, 2007 campaign chair, accepted the gift on behalf of United Way.

Ed and Mary are committed to the concept that true wealth is more than the dollars one keeps; it is what one is able to share with others.  The gift was made in honor of 40 clients of Great Dune Financial Services, in appreciation of their friendship and loyalty as clients.  Mr. and Mrs. Russell made this donation as part of their own financial planning strategy, which involves both investing 10% of one’s income for one’s future and giving away 10% of one’s income each year to charity. 

 Kennedy said, “United Way is most grateful for Ed and Mary’s generosity and community spirit.”   United Way of Porter County improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of the Porter County community through financial and volunteer resources.  Contributions to United Way are invested in programs and services that save and change more than 64,000 lives each year.
