Emerging Leaders Society

ELS Mission

United Way of Porter County Emerging Leaders Society (ELS) will foster participation, commitment, growth, and education of this community’s next generation of leaders by facilitating the development of a culture of leadership consistent with the mission and goals of United Way. We will develop a sense of civic duty in the future leaders of our community by providing a wide range of philanthropic and professional development opportunities.

What Does ELS Have to offer You?

ELS offers its members experiences in three different categories:

  • Civic Engagement: ELS members will participate in community volunteer opportunities such as Day of Caring and Rebuilding Together.
  • Philanthropy: Members contribute directly to the United Way campaign. It is an investment that gets results.
  • Professional Development: Members can network with key community leaders at educational events, focusing on the development of Porter County.
  • Who Can Join ELS?

Our membership is the next generation of Porter County Leaders. Focusing on people between the ages of 20 to 40, we also welcome the young at heart.

    How Can You Join ELS?

Joining ELS is easy! Make an annual gift or pledge to United Way of Porter County of at least 1/2 percent of your annual salary (with a suggested minimum of $100)

What this means in numbers: For example, with an annual income of $20,000, the pledge would equal $100.

We reconize all ELS members offering a special designation for those who pledge $250, $500, and $750 or more.
